Senior

Tomorrow is the day. I conclude my junior year and my senior year officially begins. That's scary. It seems like last month that I walked in as a freshmen and now here I am. I think it's beneficial to lay out some goals for a year before I get to far into it, so here we go.

1. Senior year should not about me. It's not about how funny I can be, what I can get away with or who I can boss around.
2. Instead, senior year is about how I can lead, who I can encourage and to what extent I can set a standard for Christ to my peers.
3. Senior year isn't for fixing everyone else. It isn't for pointing out flaws or putting others down.
4. Instead, senior year should be about glorifying how Christ is fixing my own problems. I'm not out to fix anyone but myself, thank God I'm not the one in charge of that.
5. Senior year isn't about fun, but it also isn't about hunkering down and working in grades and scholarships and studying. There is a beautiful balance involved there.

Overall, here is my mission statement:

Over the next year at Sheboygan County Christian School, I will glorify Christ in all I do, whether it be as a leader, as a fan, as a cast member or as a friend. I will not relish in the distress or pain of others, but will encourage my peers whether they are freshmen or senior. I will show excellence in my studies without idolizing them and I will enjoy times of fellowship with my friends without being lazy or crude. I will follow Christ above all else and strive to please Him above all others.
