I'm a college student at Liberty University trying to understand the endless depths of God's grace. I enjoy making people laugh, being with my friends and listening to music. In my spare time I'm an emerging sports fan and a lifelong pop-culture nerd. This is my little way of making an impression for Christ on this big ugly, yet wonderful thing we call the Internet.

Calling Her Blessed
A few weeks ago my parents and I had a conversation about my life. My mom had a list of questions that she found and was eager to go through them with me. One of them was "what attributes do you most appreciate in your dad?" I can almost guarantee you that that question didn't read exactly that way. It probably actually said: "what attributes do you most appreciate in your parents?" But my mom isn't like that. My mom doesn't want people telling her how great she is. She doesn't crave attention, she doesn't live for praise. But that's what today is about and if anyone deserves praise for motherhood, it's my momma. She has worn so many hats in my life and yet, never once have I felt that her mothering has taken a backseat. Her priority management is legendary. Somehow she manages to be first and foremost a mother and wife, but also a hard worker, a teacher, a cook, a friend, a runner, a mentor and a leader among so many other things. She deals with people in such a gracious manner, even when people around her are being unreasonable. She stays level-headed under pressure, she brings calm to chaotic situations. She is steady in a house full of...less steady men. She's wise in her actions. My mom teaches me how to live my life in a world full of stress. When I felt under pressure over the past few months, she taught me, along with my dad, how to be steady. She perseveres and she gives all her troubles to God. If I can love my God as she does, I will have become the man I wish to be. She's also the queen of badminton (supposedly) and a select few other sports. She brings fun so easily to a conversation and joy to any day. Mom, I love you so much. You bring wisdom, joy and peace to my life. You bring comfort, love and serenity to my stress. You are everything a mother should be and ten times more. Happy Mother's Day Momma.
